I’m delighted to welcome you

I’m delighted to welcome you to the Greater Glasgow Research Interest Group,  and hope you will find friendship along with the opportunity to learn, share and participate in Parkinson’s research.  Parkinson’s UK is the largest charitable funder of Parkinson’s research in Europe, and 34% of our total grant project funding is committed to projects led in Scotland.  We believe that joining people from across the Parkinson’s community – researchers, clinicians, people with personal experience of Parkinson’s and other  supporters – will accelerate our work to find new treatments and a cure.  This Research Interest Group will be the third to be established in Scotland – and we’re thrilled that people across the country are so engaged with research.

Our small staff team works alongside volunteers across the whole of Scotland –  so if you’re new to the charity there are also other opportunities to get involved. Please take a look at our  website for more information,  and if you need advice or support with any aspect of life with Parkinson’s please contact our adviser service. To find out more about our work, please follow our Scotland Facebook page, follow us on Twitter  or contact us at scotland@parkinsons.org.uk.

On behalf of the staff team in Scotland, we are delighted that the Glasgow Research interest group is now established and I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

With all good wishes,

Annie Macleod
